Whew, spent some time this morning working on different graphic applications for my images...I did a quickie job for someone this morn and got inspired and directed to work for myself.  So, let's see where this will take me over the next couple of days.

KATRINA ALERT--I WON'T BE DEFEATED! 2 year anniversary TODAY since arriving/striving/thriving in ATLANTA!!!!

I am BLESSED! to have survived Katrina--we lived in Escatawpa, MS. 

Above are PRE-KATRINA 2005 pictures of our house on 1 acre of land:  I had a garden, I designed Mommy & Me clothing and you'll see a few of those in the show....By the way, this is ANOTHER batch of pictures that were NOT DESTROYED by Katrina! 

Hubby built an arbor, seesaw, doghouse and a host of other things...You'll see my outdoor rooms and courtyard.  Mostly I grew flowers and a few vegetables and herbs...I miss having land but suffice it to say

WE'RE HERE!

AND

I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!!!

I have done numerous fashion shows, done costume design for the runway scene for the movie DREAM KWEENS, am commissioned to do 2 more movies, a tv pilot, a play, more shows on the horizon and ETC!.  I have been blessed and will continue to be so!

I just love that above quote--I believe I used it earlier this week.  Anywho, some things bear repeating....

Whadya think of the photos?  That design piece is called "You Are Your Own Work of Art".  It is designed with a pleathora of ideas--be that of synthetic hair, wire, beadwork and much style, ha.  I had a one woman art show at Norwich Arts Council, which included my fiber art sculptures, mixed media, wood assemblages and nonwearable wearables...had a blast! 

I was so grateful to have these (and a host of others) photos saved...Hubby brought these to me 2 weeks ago.  Yup, and Hurricane Katrina happened almost 2 years ago.  My oldest daughter asked me if I was going to celebrate on the anniversary of Katrina, nah, why?  I am glad I survived and am still here today.  It's a blessing....

But looking at the photos from that time when I did art shows is reminding me how much I love all types of art.  I'll have to get back into the gallery scene here in Atlanta. 

But first, today looks like quite a busy day--first off, will be with the movie producer today working on some things and later on this evening, if the photographer was able to set up the appt, a singer would like to meet with me--she saw my designs either via a model of mine or photos floating about and was loving them.  GO ME!!!

And ya know, Da Hook will be attendance...

Yesterday I picked up some yarn and ribbons/embellishments:  doilies, beads, feathers.  My movie producer friend loves browns and I seem to be pulled to working with those colors as of late...I'll see her probably tomorrow and want to show her the newest additions to my collection...huh?  I've known her longer, or in person anywho.  I guess the sight of yarns & hooks frightens most of my visitors--crazy crochet fun house!--but imaGINA me trying to find anything, like children in all this loops & hooks, oh my!  Well, they usually let their presence be known when they want something....like food!  I havent' found a way to crochet with food yet, ahh, but I do have some lovely mussel shells I am thinking of working into an ensemble.  Ya send up a loop for me, heh.

I am still waiting on pictures from Birmingham, Atlanta and Dream Kweens the premiere....Should all be within my grasp, ahem, (play on words as in the above quote), within the next couple of days.   I love seeing my vision through another's sight.

~~~~I must say--it truly has been a while since I posted (psst, but we know Moi all of those "missing dates" can be filled in in an instant...but shhh, didn't hear that from me)  I miss my blogging and boy do I have ALOT to blog about but suffice it to say, my internet has been down, and down and down and I only have so many minutes at the library's computer.  Plus Hubby has my laptop so I can't upload any new pics....oh well, things will turn around hopefully shortly....

People...are interesting but sometimes only for a season

As you know, people are in your life for a Reason, Season, or Lifetime.

Reason - meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
